Lou Haines has retired as the Manager of Graduate Student Services at Miami University, Ohio with a graduate student population of approximately 3,000 students. She served on NDLTD’s Board of Directors from 2017 to 2018.
Prior to coming to Miami in 2006, Lou was a legal assistant for a large Ohio law firm for 35 years. Lou was also the Director of Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Services at Miami, and oversaw the management of each thesis or dissertation that was written and published by their students and assisted with the dissemination of their research and work on OhioLINK, Ohio’s ETD repository. She was on the Board of Directors for the USETDA (United States Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Association) and was essential in promoting the 3MT® (Three Minute Thesis®) in Ohio and nationwide.
