Laura Hammons joined the NDLTD board in 2015 and has been working with ETDs since 2008. She was the Director of Graduate Records Processing and Thesis/Dissertation Services in the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies at Texas A&M University. In that capacity, she led efforts to deploy the open source ETD Submission System, Vireo, at Texas A&M University – one of the first institutions to do so. She co-chaired the Vireo Users Group from its inception in 2010 through 2013.

Laura is the founder of the Texas ETD Association and co-founder of the US ETD Association, where she served on the Board of Directors. She was a member of the NDLTD from 2010 to 2015, and in 2011, received the NDLTD International ETD Leadership Award for her significant contribution to the ETD movement.  Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University. Additional information available from: http://orcid.org/0000-0002-0140-6235
