Dragana Stoli\u0107 got BA, MA and PhD degrees at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade. Since 1995 she has been working at the University library \u201cSvetozar Markovi\u0107\u201d in Belgrade, which is the central library of the Belgrade University, and the biggest and oldest academic library in Serbia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first period, she worked at the Department of Scientific Information and Reference, later transformed into the Department of Scientific Information and Education. Specifically, she was engaged in searching for all relevant information resources on users\u2019 request, such as local and union catalogs, databases, bibliographies and online services. Part of this engagement included citation analysis, and the preparation of bibliographies of citations and other bibliometric indicators based on sources like Web of Science or Scopus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2011 she has participated in activities related to establishing the institutional repository, and she has conducted numerous training on the archiving of digital objects, metadata scheme, open access and copyright issues. PhD theses defended at the University of Belgrade make the majority of the repository content. Furthermore, she participated in establishing the subsystem (Etheses) of the repository, for easier and efficient access to part of the repository that includes PhD theses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the repository establishment, she has become intensively involved in projects and initiatives related to doctoral studies, visibility and accessibility of PhD theses, as well as the quality assessment and developing of soft skills among students. These activities mainly include: 1) projects on retrospective digitization of PhD theses, as a part of the scientific heritage and establishing special digital collections of old theses, 2) realization of retrospective digitization for theses that are still under copyright (digitization of theses on users\u2019 request), 3) organization of activities (workshops) about the form and mandatory elements of doctoral dissertations and about copyright for PhD students of all universities in Serbia, 4) participation in the part of the final theses evaluation which includes originality check using an online service (iThenticate), and organization of trainings for mentors about this procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the increasing number of activities related to doctoral studies and doctoral theses, in 2022 she initiated the establishment of the PhD Studies Support Center as a new unit within the University library. Its task is to provide educational, instructive and technical help to PhD students. So far, Centre has organized more than 50 trainings and workshops which were led by distinguished professors, researchers and professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
