Omer Hassan Abdelrahman is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Library and Information Science of the Faculty of Arts, University of Khartoum, Sudan. He holds a PhD degree in Library and Information Science. He worked as the Universityof Khartoum Deputy Librarian 2018-2019 and as Head of the Department of Library and Information Science August 2013 \u2013 September 2014. He taught at the Eritrea Institute of Technology (EIT) in Asmara, Eritrea 2012-2013. He worked as Chief University Librarian of the National Ribat University in Khartoum, Sudan (2002 \u2013 2006). He was appointed as Head of the Acquisitions Section of the University of Khartoum Main Library (1998-2001). His teaching expertise is in the areas of indexing and abstracting and ICT applications in libraries. His research interests are in the areas of Open Access publishing, professional development and curriculum development. He participated and presented papers in many regional and international conferences, and published severalpapers (in English and Arabic languages) in refereed journals.
